The mission of the Burrard Arts Foundation (BAF) is to promote the development of, and excellence in, the visual arts in Canada – accomplished through innovative art projects and programs. BAF seeks to advance the understanding and appreciation of the Arts in Vancouver by showcasing local and global artistic talent and dialogue from the creative minds of today and tomorrow in dynamic ways, and within the public’s grasp. Our objective is to provide opportunities that enable artists to produce their work and share it with the World.
Public Art, as a means for creative expression, has the potential to reach the broadest crosssection of our communities, and is a primary focus of the Burrard Arts Foundation. From murals, to sculpture, to installation art and beyond, we aim to engage all people through fun and inspiring public art projects done in collaboration with outstanding artists from Canada and abroad.
Within our gallery and studio space, BAF Gallery, we promote and exhibit engaging contemporary art in an environment that aims to be open and accessible to everyone. BAF Gallery also has a special focus of providing assistance to promising, qualified emerging artists through professional development and exhibition opportunities.
Along with our formal exhibition schedule, BAF Gallery also hosts public programming and events, making it a great venue for the community to come together and share in the Arts.
We believe that access to art (and the surrounding conversations) should be available to all, and we collaborate closely with artists, curators, nonprofits, property owners, governmental agencies, generous donors and the community in working towards this goal. The success of our programming relies on your support!
BAF is a Registered Canadian Charity, all donations are tax-deductible.
