The Burrard Arts Foundation is proud to partner with Access Gallery and Contraste agence d’art for the Twenty – Three Days at Sea Residency Program. In December 2014 a call for submissions was conducted. Over 800 proposals were submitted by artists hailing from international locations as far afield as Sevastopol, Lahore to Sao Paolo, and St. Petersburg. In May 2015, BAF and Access Gallery launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help raise funds to support the residency program. After several weeks of outreach to the press as well as through social media, the campaign was successfully funded for a total of $12,682. The yearly residencies will each culminate in an exhibition at Access Gallery.
